Gwen and I have decided to close Las Terrazas May 1st, as a BnB, and we will keep a few of the casitas as year or more rentals. We've met so many wonderful guests who have become friends, returning to San Miguel and Las Terrazas. We feel privileged to have been your hosts. We now will take this freedome to travel and be with friends and family.

San Miguel de Allende, a colonial-era city, is located in the central mountain highlands of Mexico. San Miguel is one of central Mexico's legendary and historic cities.
Located 200 miles northwest of Mexico City and 200 miles northeast of Guadalajara; San Miguel at an altitude of 6,413 feet enjoys a pleasant climate year round. San Miguel has charming Spanish colonial architecture which is strictly protected by Federal Historic Preservation.
San Miguel de Allende received The World's Best Award for the best city in the world (2017, 2018 and second best 2020), by Travel and Leisure Magazine. San Miguel is a popular destination due to the abundance of art and music, its unique architecture, delicious foods and consistently mild climate. Drug violence is nothing to be worried about in this small town.
A few interesting things you will find while exploring the City and surrounding areas are botanical gardens, churches dating back to the 17th century,
farm-fresh restaurants and an abundance of live music.
San Miguel’s traditional Mexican architecture is protected from modern urban development due to it being a UNESCO World Heritage site, meaning the city is recognized as a historic landmark and the architecture must remain consistent with traditional Mexican appearance. Las Terrazas is located within this protected UNESCO boundary.
